How to Take Your Power Back from Anyone or Anything

Have you ever found yourself criticizing a politician because you think that they have the power and you don't, and they are misusing it because they are not doing what you would do with it? Or feeling very angry at someone because they unjustifiably mistreated you or blocked you from doing something that you wanted to do? Of course you have. However, what you have just done is put yourself in a powerless position because that's exactly what anger is; a feeling of powerlessness, and anything or anyone that you judge, you have just given your power away to it.

When you give your power away to something, can you influence it? You bet you, you can't because it's serving too useful a function by reflecting to you, your judgments and your anger. And life will always reflect back to you where you are giving your power away in an attempt to give you an opportunity to heal it.

You create your reality by creating or allowing. In the examples above, you are creating by judging, and you are allowing by being blocked or mistreated. However, do not judge yourself for creating this reality, whether or not you know how you specifically did this. Nonetheless, it's here and you've given your power to it rather than be the powerful one. You can also recognize however, that it's always going to be a benefit to take your power back and that can change everything. So how do you go about doing that? Below is a powerful technique to take your power back:

1.
In your mind, see the person or thing out there that you are giving energy to. If it's a thing, say for instance a fear, then personify it.
2.
You are going to reach out mentally and grab the power.
3.
Suck it back in you with a big in-breath while mentally saying, "Power Return to Me." Repeat this three times while sucking in. Doing it physically gets it anchored in the body.
4.
Sense yourself as being really large, about 15-20 feet and you are now looking down at this person. They are still the size they are but you've gotten bigger because you took all this power back. Notice that they are not as solid or as vibrant because all their intensity of power was your energy.
5.
In your mind, thank them for showing you where you gave your power away and for the opportunity to take it back. Look at them with compassion for the ugly job that you gave them to do to make your life miserable.
6.
Then forgive them.
7.
And lastly, forgive yourself for giving your power away to them.

From this position, if you judge them now, it is in dissonance with your self-image, where before it was in sync with your self-image of a powerless person. However, you still may not like the policies and the things they are doing, so dream what you want them to do and take the appropriate actions for you. Maybe you might want to promote a different candidate that you think has integrity, or you might choose to renew or end the relationship with that person. When you are powerful, things change, but as long as you judge them, they are going to stay in that little box where you put them.
